Greene  County Adult

Concert Band

About GCACB

The Greene County Adult Concert Band was organized in the summer of 1988.  The purposes of the group were and still are to afford an opportunity for accomplished band musicians of Greene County and surrounding areas to express their talent and interest and to provide high quality summer concerts for the communities within the county.  The band rehearses at Cedarville University and we are deeply grateful for their generous hospitality.

Of the approximately 85 members of the band, more than half live and/or work in Greene County.  The group functions during the months of June, July and August only, and plays from four to six concerts per summer.  Concerts have been given in every community in Greene County as well as many other Ohio cities including Columbus, Centerville, New Carlisle, Tipp City, Wilmington, Dayton, Springfield, St. Marys, Lebanon, Zanesville, Coshocton, Washington Court House, and Lexington, Kentucky.

The band’s repertoire includes marches, overtures, orchestral transcriptions, contemporary symphonic music and novelty selections.  Each concert is designed to please audiences with diversified tastes.
